We had 22 Steppin' Out dancers meet and carpool to the "Gonna Make U Dance" line dance workshop in Orlando, Florida on Saturday....instructing were Suzanne Wilson, Sandy Albano, Lindy Bowers, and Janice Graves. The workshop was held in the Whirl & Twirl Dance Hall.....what a beautiful place for dancing!....gorgeous wood floor, plenty of room (although we had quite a crowd), chairs lining the floor (I think these are used more for holding everyone's stuff than sitting) cool air, free water, great instructors, and everyone ready to dance.....all the ingredients of a perfect dance day.
Gonna Make U Dance workshop was the second one I have attended this year. Lots of great dancers and 19 from our Steppin Out Group. I think we had the most from any one group which was really nice.
Dances taught included Lift Me Up by Glynn Holt (taught at our first beginner class this past Sept-- real basic beginner teach), Country As Can Be by Suzanne Wilson (enjoyed doing this dance -- will be a great beginner dance and floor split to Country As a Boy Can Be by Slijters), Work In Progress by Arline Winerman & Lindy Bowers (this one was just OK, not my favorite), He Hate Me by Janis Graves & Lindy Bowers (liked this dance -- has lots of quick steps and keeps you moving -- good beginner dance), Holla Yee Haw by Suzanne Wilson ( liked the step slide, 3 bounces section as well as the push forward & back, push & steps -- not to crazy about the quick twist and points), Black & Gold by Teresa & Vera (liked this dance and got it on the first wall -- just needs a little more work and think I will have it anyway), Good Times by Dave Bassett (this dance also keeps you moving with a tricky last 8 counts -- liked the dance), Into the Night by Rachael McEnaney (This is an Intermediate/advanced level dance and since I do not teach to that level, I sat this one out-- several of our group stayed out and learned this dance. kudos to you).
Thanks to the wonderful Instructors who were teaching. The day went very quickly.
