First I would like to say "Great Dance" Friday night. We all had a wonderful time, and it was so much fun for all with so many split floor dances. I know the beginners enjoy dancing to great music.. and the improver, intermediates love dancing to harder dances.
I want to "Thank" by class for all their support every week by coming to my class and then coming to the "Steppin Out" dance...they always have a lot of fun...and good work to John our DJ and Terri and of course, Linda for all their hard work...KUDOS to all.....and keep those HAPPY FEET DANCING....
Pam

We danced everything from Electric Slide and Cupid Shuffle to Turn Me Loose and Headphones..... special requests of Roomba (what a fun looking dance!) and Poker Face filled the floor too along with the split floor dances like Rebel Sailor / Rebel Amor and My Girl Sally / Sea Salt Sally. The dancers love the split floor dances as they give something special to all levels, beginner and intermediate.
There was some 2-steppin, swinging, and buckle rubbing on the floor too. A quick walk thru of the mixer, Teton Mountain Stomp, and the circle was so large that you never got back to your original partner. We had such a great time!
Tickets were drawn for prizes, a few announcements about the upcoming Workshop in Ocala on Sept. 26, and more dancing!
A hit Florida.....at least on the Steppin' Out dancefloor!! There were 106 dancers attending the midsummer social dance and the party mood was in full swing. We had many new dancers that were getting their first taste of a Steppin' Out event and they were having a blast! Smiles and laughter everywhere.
The tables were covered with blue, yellow and orange tablecloths, lights were dim, and DJ John was spinning all our favorite dance tunes. Dancers were rushing to the floor when the music started and I don't think they left it until 11PM.
Awww.....the end of the night had arrived....what?? Already?? How did 4 hours pass so quickly?!?
We have to wait until September for another one??
Please don't throw your cyber shoes at me. *crosses fingers* It will be here before you know it
and in the meantime you'll be learning lots of new dances in class to add to the playlist for the

attendance, helping to set up and clean up, taking pictures, and most important having fun on the floor. Thanks to hubby Jeff who was volunteered to relieve Tony at the door (Pat had back surgery).
Crazy ‘bout Dancing????? Yes, we are and yes, we will be doing it again on Friday,September 11, 2009, same place and time. Mark your calendars now and don’t miss the chance to get up on Saturday morning with sore feet and an aching back from all the fun you had the night before....Linda

What words can I use to describe a HEATWAVE? It was HOT Blue, HOT Yellow,
and HOT orange on the tables and the 106 dancers on the floor were also showing off their HOT moves. Many were slow to arrive, but once they came in the door they hit the floor. We had quite a few new beginners with us last night and looked like they were
having a great time. Looking forward to having them back again in September.
DJ John kept us dancing with many of the floor splits from our play list, plenty
of beginner dances for our newer dancers, requests from those that wanted to
make sure their dance was played, a mixer thrown in and so many more.
Congrats to the winners of the 50/50 and the free passes for the next dance in
Sept. Thanks again to those of you who support the dances through your
That was another dance off my feet event on Friday night. I have to tell you that I smiled broadly when everyone was "quacking" on Duck Soup. In my Saturday morning class (7:30AM), we warm up to a few dances. I used Duck Soup as one of them this past Saturday and "quacked". I got a few odd looks and then some smiles. There was a lot of quacking going on by the end of the dance. That's what it's all about........fun. What a way to start the day!
