It was finally time for the Cram & Jam to officially start and Carl was the first instructor up. He quickly walked the group through "Yes Sir, That's My Baby", an ultra beginner dance to an oldie song. Cute dance that the entire room had in just a few minutes. Jan followed with a quick review/teach of "Amame Un Poquito" (one of our floor split dances). Pam hit the floor next with one of the improver dances "Do That Again", new to many and a little challenge for the more beginner students.. Linda quickly walked the group through "Wanna Be Elvis" and Eileen followed with a review for the intermediate dancers with "When I Cry". Bonnie jumped on the floor to review "Would You Be Vine", one of the newer additions on our playlist. Rosie Multari is the choreographer and will be one of the guest instructors at the First Florida Steppin' Out workshop in Ocala on Sept 26. We want to be sure that all the dancers know some of her dances. Sara got the beginners on the floor with "La Paloma", another of our floor split dances. Darlene
had everyone on the floor for "Triple J", a definite floor filler at our social dances.

***Instructor Comments***
I, as well as my dancers that were at the Cram and Jam agree it was very informative. We know what we want to work on based on what we saw. Getting tips from other instructors was most beneficial to me. We had a good time, met some very nice people. Some of the dancers who had never line danced before were definitely overwhelmed but they were determined to stick to it because of what they saw. Nothing but good to say about the whole afternoon. Keep on Dancin', Bonnie
Great day for dancing. Thought it was wonderful that so many beginner/improver dancers came out to review dances
Several instructors and students arrived about 11:30am to have an early teach by Eileen of "Coochie Bang Bang".....what a great dance, but definitely a challenge with all the turns and 2 different tags. We made it through the first tag, but will all have to work on the 2nd one.
DJ John played a few songs for open dancing in between every few teaches. Thanks out to all the instructors who volunteered their time to do some reviews, to Marge for coming down to take some pics, to DJ John for giving us some great sound, and to all the dancers that attended.
What a great practice day.....beginner and newer dancers to the Steppin' Out program had a chance to review dances they have been doing in class and learn several others to prepare them to fill
I started with "Stroll Along Cha", a long time favorite that works well with so many different cha cha songs.....of course, we had to dance it a second time and rock it to "Rock This Party"......totally changes the entire feel of the dance. The instructors took turns leading on the floor. Dances taught/reviewed included:
Dreams Can Come True Gotta Love to Boogie This & That
Peaches & Cream Swamp Thang Looser Still Cry to Me
Duck Soup and Zjozzy's Funk.
the floor at our social dance parties. The improvers and intermediate dancers had a super review day.....great chance to bring some dances we haven't done in awhile back to our memories. We're now ready to hit the floor on Sept. 11 and stay there all night!!......see you on the dance floor!
If you weren't at the "Cram & Jam", you definitely missed a great day of dancing! The air was down low, plenty of dance floor space..... 34 dancers were on the floor (mostly beginner/improver level) .....9 instructors walking thru favorite dances from the Steppin' Out playlist .....DJ John spinning the music......yep, a perfect dance day.

.....where were you??
I had a great time on Saturday. Of course I got to teach some of my favorite dances (as if you couldn't tell). I hope that more people get a chance to participate in the next "Cram and Jam". It was a great opportunity for all of us, the instructors as well as the students. As Terri said it gives us a chance to see how other instructors teach and makes us a little more comfortable when the other instructors are there. And it also gives the class an opportunity to know each of us...and that when we are at the "Steppin Out" dance...they will feel that each one of the instructors is their instructor.
There are just so many great dances out there and wonderful music. And what a great opportunity for all of us. Thanks Terri for all your great effort...and thanks to all the instructors who participated. Great fun had by all....and to keep our Happy Feet DANCING :):) Pam
they have already learned as well as many that were new to them. Keep practicing and attending
your classes and you will be happy you did. Hope to see many of you at the next social on September 11th. Linda
